AzPom Incorporation has been established for more than 18 years. But actual story goes way back to 1990 when for a lot of people in GTA area pomegranate fruit by itself was unknown. A variety of degustation days were provided in different grocery stores to enlighten people about this magic fruit, its health benefits, source of antioxidant which everyone are familiar now. In 2000, the foundations of the company as we know it today were laid down. This was the introduction of AzPom Inc, since then Company, has continued to develop and expand. Azerbaijan Pomegranate Juice arrived to Canada.
Azerbaijan Pomegranate Juice
Pomegranate is a sun-loving plant and is usually grown in the warmest southern Azerbaijani
regions. Different varieties of pomegranate are planted in Azerbaijan, and wild trees are
encountered as well.
The most popular Azerbaijani varieties of pomegranate are Guloysha, Bala Mursal, Nazik gabig,
Shah nar, Girmizi gabig, Shelli cross breeding, Girmizi valas Shahnaz, and Agshirin. The
distinguishing feature of the AzPom Azerbaijani pomegranates is its natural growth without the
use of organic fertilizers.
In Azerbaijan culture pomegranates are great addition to food, such as pomegranate wine, soft
drink, compote, pomegranate molasses called narsharab sauce in azeri language, is a perfect
complement to meat and fish dishes.
Pomegranate Harvest Festival is being held in Azerbaijan every year in early November in
Goychay region, which lies on the 216th km of Baku-Qazakh Highway. During annual festivals
everyone can enjoy sweet fruits and variety of products made from pomegranate, listen to live
music, participate in contests and performances and games. Pomegranates ripen during the
end of October to early November in Azerbaijan; can be stored in cool and dark places for a
very long time to conserve freshness.
